Australian Canoeing Interim Board | News

Management and the Interim Board have been doing a lot of work over the last few weeks to plan for our future. A recent all day strategic planning was a start to the process, and we hope to have a new strategic plan out shortly. We recognise of course that it may need changes once the ASC review is handed down.

One of the issues being looked at is how to provide better services for members. Member benefits at present are listed on the AC website http://www.canoe.org.au/member and include discounts from a variety of commercial organisations and service providers.

One new type of member benefit that we are considering, is a section of the AC website where "Members Only" have access to some really good information. At present members can log in to their own area and place classified ads for items for sale. A similar system would allow members to provide information on their favourite rivers, paddling localities etc. This information would only be available to other members, and would provide a valuable resource for the paddling community.

We would like some feedback on this concept. Do people think there is value in providing some "exclusive" member benefits along these lines? Would you like to contribute or access current paddling information in this manner?  Or do you have any thoughts on the sort of information that you would like to be able to access.

If you have some comments (even just a yes or no) please drop us a line at michael.pfeffer@canoe.org.au
