Other Tasmanian Events that may serve as a lead-up to the 2006 Australian Whitewater Championships and selection races, are as follows:
DCC Champs - Derwent Canoe Club Championships are held on the first weekend in December at the Brady's Lake Slalom course. This is the club's traditional annual championships which includes both a normal slalom event and a 'plastic' boat slalom on the challenging Brady's course. This year's event will feature Wildwater Rapid Sprints.
Tas Champs - 2005 Tasmanian Wildwater Championships will be held on the second weekend in December at the Mersey River course, featuring slalom and wildwater events. The Classic and Rapid Sprint courses will be the same as those used in the January Championships events.
