Senior canoe slalom paddler Rosalyn Lawrence won her first international medal of the year, silver at an ICF Ranking Race in Tacen, Slovenia on the weekend.
Lawrence finished second in the C1W and sixth in the K1W events.
Fellow Australian Daniel Watkins of Hobart competed at his first senior international competition.
The 18 year old finished a respectable 16th in K1M event amongst a world class field.
Slovenian athletes dominated their local event with Peter Kauzer triumphant in the K1M and Ursa Kragelj winning the K1W events.
Lawrence and Watkins will represent Australia on the ICF World Cup circuit this year.
Lawrence will compete at all five World Cups. The first World Cup will be held in London from 6-8 June.
Watkins will make his World Cup debut in place of Lucien Delfour at World Cup 2 at the same venue in Slovenia from 13-15 June.
