Australia's Olympic K4 gold medallists have won bronze on the final day of racing at the Canoe Sprint World Championships in Duisburg, Germany.
Earlier in the day Ken Wallace won gold in the K1 5000m, to add to his silver in the K1 1000m on Saturday.
Unfortunately the gruelling race took its toll on Wallace, who was unable to recapture the spark of his earlier sprint performances and finished at the back of the K1 500 field.
The Australian men's K4 team chose not to race competitively in Europe this year, but Tate Smith, David Smith, Murray Stewart and Jacob Clear showed they meant business when they led the field at the half-way point.
As the challenges began to come the lack of big-race experience this year began to show, but the four fought on bravely to hold on for bronze behind Russia.
The new-look Australian women's K4 500 team showed promise for the future, finishing seventh in their final.
