Manly Olympian Naomi Flood has had her lead cut to eight points atop the standings after Round 5 of the 2012/13 Telstra Ironwoman Series in Coolum on Sunday
Flood battled hard to finish 8th in both races 1 and 2 for a sixth place overall finish.
“I didn't have much going my way yesterday,” said Flood.
Round 5 winner Courtney Hancock now trails Flood by just eight points leading into the final round at Noosa on Sunday.
The final round will consist of an eliminator format over three races, with the best eight athletes progressing through to the final.
Flood will be looking to return to the form she showed earlier in the series at Portsea and add another surf title to her impressive trophy cabinet to date.
“Fingers crossed for some luck and hopefully I somehow get a bit fitter in the next few days.”
