Murray Stewart & Jo Brigden Jones attend NSWIS ceremony at Parliament house today.

Murray Stewart and Jo Brigden Jones were among the many NSWIS athletes honoured in a welcome home ceremony at Parliamant House today.

NSW Premier Barry O’Farrell MP formerly welcomed the Olympic and Paralympic athletes coinciding with the announcement by ClubsNSW of their ongoing support for NSWIS.

NSWIS announced a four year extension of its partnership with Principal Partner ClubsNSW in the lead up to the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The extended partnership, which will see ClubsNSW provide over $1 million of annual support, comes on the back of a successful London campaign for NSWIS scholarship holders who won a combined total of 16 gold, 14 silver and 21 bronze medals at the Olympic & Paralympic Games.

Also in attendance at the ceremony were NSWIS Chairman Phil Coles AM, Paralympian Maddison Elliott, ClubsNSW Chairman/NSWIS Board Member Peter Newell OAM and Minister for Sport and Recreation Graham Annesley MP.
