Years on Senior Team? I've been on the senior team since September 2009 where i made my debut in C1 at the World Champs in Seu. Since then I've made it on the team for both K1 and C1.
Where/When/Why did you begin the sport? I’ve been around the sport since I was little. My parents were both involved and I grew up by a river. I started paddling in 2005, I made some friends, went on river trips and really started to enjoy training and competition.
Greatest Sporting Achievement? Becoming Double Junior World Champion, winning 3 world cups and winning Olympic K1 silver in London.
What are your future goals? To continue improving and ultimately win medals at the highest level - Olympics, World Championships and World Cups. I also want to complete my uni degree, and in the future get a good job for life after paddling.
Greatest Influence on Career? Parents and I guess growing up in Penrith, I was always around the top Australian kayakers which meant I could watch and learn from the best… It motivated me to one day be up there!
What are you looking forward to most about competing in London? I'm looking forward to the whole experience of representing Australia at the biggest sporting event - i feel lucky and excited to have this opportunity so I want to give it my best shot. Being a part of a big team of all different sports, living in the village and racing on the challenging course of Lee Valley is what I’m excited about!
Competitor you respect/fear the most? I respect a lot of the women I race against - all the Australian girls but, I really look up to some of the international competitors for example Elena Kaliska, Maialen chourraut, Corinna Kuhnle and many others in the K1 class. I'd also have to say Michal Martikan and Tony Estanguet... the greatest!
What keeps you busy outside of Kayaking? University and spending time with friends.
Who inspires you? The Olympics and all of the athletes competing and achieving their best.
Employment/Education? I attended Blaxland High School and I am currently studying media and communications at Sydney University.
