All rafters are welcome to share the Cataract Gorge for the Teva Cataract Extreme Race on Jan 14, 15 and 16th.  It should be an awesome combination of paddle-sport events. There is a big BBQ planned on the lawn of the 1st basin on the Saturday night.

Accommodation is available at Peppers Seaport Hotel (Ph 03 6345 3333). Peppers have been very supportive of both events and they are the only hotel in Launceston with a jazzy marina about 8 minutes paddle from the last rapid.  They are also providing a reduced rate for paddlers and rafters at $160 / night for a 2 bedroom self contained suite (fit approx. four people).  This is great value for the quality hotel that it is.  Seaport will let both events use the conference room for registration / presentations and have an enormous safe storage area free-of-charge.

We will gather at Fergus Fluid at the end of the last rapid after all events are done and have an all-in race to the bar with the first raft team and the first three paddlers to get a free jug each.  Fastest rafts / kayakers to start at the tail.

The 3 day event promises to be a fun-filled experience with organisers hoping to maintain an all-paddlesport atmosphere.
