Six boats Qualify for World Cup Semi Finals
Australia qualified 6 boats into the Semi Finals of the Slalom World Cup 3 in Ljubljana-Tacen, Slovenia today. Australia qualified 6 boats into the Semi Finals of the Slalom World Cup 3 in Ljubljana-Tacen, Slovenia today. In the C1 class Justin Boocock (AIS/TIS) qualified in 9th position, Robin Bell (AIS/WAIS) in 10th and Kynan Maley (AIS/WAIS) in 12th. In the K1 Womens class Susie Wharton (VIS) raced hard to qualify 7th position. Helena Merrett (WSAS) qualified in 28th position, while Emma Lefroy received 56 seconds of penalties, pushing her out the the Semi Finals in 32nd position. Sam Norton (AIS/NSWIS) qualified in 40th in the K1 Mens class, while Anton King (VIS) just missed the cut in 41st position. In the C2 Mens class Mark Bellofiore (AIS/VIS)/Lachie Milne(AIS/NSWIS) placed in 11th followed by Kai Swoboda/Andrew Farrance (AIS/VIS) in 12th and Duncan Proust/Ben Hankinson (AIS/NSWIS) in 15th position. The cut-off for Semi Final qualification was 10th position. Coach Mike Druce said, "The course at Tacen is always one of the hardest World Cups and as usual the penalties decided the Semi Finalists."
