The Canoe Slalom National Talent Squad has been announced following the National Championships and Schools championships in Tasmania last week.
(NEDP) and receives high performance funding support for camps and coaching. Athletes selected to the NTS may also gain selection to the national junior team and other Australian teams and squads.
The NTS is a camps based program providing technical coaching, education and performance testing. The program is coordinated by Peter Eckhardt and utilises the technical expertise of Australia's top coaches and senior athletes.
The program for the 2012 NTS squad includes a development tour to New Zealand at Easter for selected paddlers within the NTS squad.
Other camps are held around Australia and are usually three days long, in 2010 2012 there were will be six four camps held at Penrith, Tasmania and Perth.
Online acceptance and letters will be sent to all selected athletes.
