From January 1st, 2009, the new International Standard for Therapeutic Use Exemptions caters for standard TUEs only. The standard TUE also caters for more common prohibited substances like, Beta-2 Agonists (inhalers for Asthmatics) and some Glucocorticosteroids (depending on method of administration).
Information for athletes regarding the use of Beta-2 Agonists (inhalers for Asthmatics) and Glucocorticosteroids can be found in the fact sheets provided on the ASADA Website:
If an athlete suffers a medical condition that a doctor can only treat with a prohibited substance, he or she is required to complete a standard TUE
