Rebecca Mann stars in Nagambie
Madeleine Hurst and Rebecca Mann claim yet another win each, Robert McIntyre was best of the men's field and Kieren Carson claims U18 win.
Robert McIntyre of NSW took out the Mens K1 200m final in the absence of the majority of the senior athletes.
Victorian paddlers continued to impress claiming 2nd through to 5th in the placings with David Ceddia returning after his K1 1000m win yesterday to finish half a second off the pace in 2nd with James Campbell 3rd.
Patterson Lakes again featured on the podium for the Women’s K1 200m with Madeleine Hurst claiming the win. The win completes the trifecta for Hurst who showed her diversity securing open class wins over all 3 distances at the regatta.
Anna Hennessy of Westlakes again placed 2nd to Hurst with Virginia Carlton of Geelong in 3rd.
Amanda Drennan of Patterson Lakes finished the Nagambie regatta with a clean sweep in the Paracanoe K1 events after taking out the women’s 200m MC final to add to her 1000m and 500m victories yesterday.
Melissa Bussenschutt and Emily Rycken were 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Kieren Carson was best of the U18 men winning the 1000m final ahead of Jarrad Campbell and Sean Lohse whilst Rebecca Mann continued her impressive form from yesterday with yet another win in the Under 18 women’s final. Fellow Bendigo paddler, Madeleine Batters was 2nd with Josephine Bulmer of Westlakes 3rd.
The Bendigo pair of Mann and Batters went on to smash the field in the Womens K2 final finishing more than 3 seconds ahead of Bulmer and Loughry in the Women’s K2 final. The pair claimed the win over open K2 pair Madeleine Hurst and Anna Hennesy.
Carson teamed with Jarrad Campbell to take the Under 18 win in the K2 following his K1 win. Jarrad Crawford and Sean Lohse were 2nd ahead of Anthony Carbone and Chris Martin.
In the Men’s U18 K4 Carson & Campbell found success with crew members Tom Hedditch and Tim Arnold narrowly claiming the win.
In the Open Mens K2 final, Robert McIntyre returned to the winners’ podium with partner James Campbell ahead of Patterson Lakes pair David Ceddia and Nicholas Byrne. Tom Hedditch and Tim Arnold of Mercantile Canoe Club finished 3rd.
Donnie Elgin found a return to form winning the PC 200 MCHC ahead of Colin Sieders and Amanda Drennan.
Racing concluded with the Women's K4 crew of Rebecca Mann, Nathalie Walkington, Madeleine Batters and Kayla Whinray comfortable winners.
