The ICF Congress have neglected the push for gender equity, failing to support the inclusion of Women's canoe in the Olympic schedule.

The result is most disappointing with Australian women hardest hit, forming three of the top 10 women in the class.

Olympic silver medallist Jessica Fox and multiple C1W medallist, Ros Lawrence are clear candidates to benefit from the inclusion of Womens Canoe in Rio and beyond.

Jessica Fox demonstrated her dismay at the lack of gender equity questioning if the international federation is in fact advancing as they would suggest.

"International Canoe Federation is not changing the program for Rio 2016 ... But trying to achieve gender equity for 2024 Olympics? Maybe you should think of changing your motto - ICF are you really "moving forward"? commented Fox.
